FAQ
Q: What is the quality of the pave diamonds used in your pave ring mountings?
The diamonds we use in our pave engagement ring mountings are graded with color H/I and clarity VS/SI. These small diamonds are referred to as melee (meh-lee) diamonds and are less than 0.15 carats each.
Q: What does "color H/I and clarity VS/SI" mean?
"Color H/I and clarity VS/SI" is the notation used to describe parcels of small diamonds like the ones used in our pave engagement ring mountings. Color H/I means that the diamonds are either H or I color and clarity VS/SI means that the diamonds have clarity in the range of VS1 - SI2 (i.e. inclusions can not be seen without magnification).

Q: What is a GIA Diamond Grading Report?
The Gemological Institute of America (GIA), issues Diamond Grading Reports which are a complete technical description of a diamond as it is loose, prior to being mounted in the setting. GIA does not assign any monetary value to the diamond, just specific measurements and quality grades, which are useful when identifying a particular diamond. Diamond Grading Reports are often incorrectly called a "certificate".
Q: What is a Triple Ex diamond?
Diamonds with exceptional scintillation possess the best cut grade as well as highly symmetrical facets and high quality polish. To find diamonds with the best sparkle effect, focus your efforts on GIA certificated diamonds that are Triple Excellent (Triple Ex). Triple Ex diamonds have excellent cut, excellent polish and excellent symmetry.
Q: I already have my ring, how can I tell which diamonds will work with it?
If you already have a ring mounting (semi-mount), you’ll need two pieces of information to begin shopping for a matching diamond (size and shape). The size of diamond that your ring can accommodate is determined by the prong spacing. If you don’t have the prong spacing, most jewelers will measure it for you. Ask for not only the prong measurement, but also an estimate in carat size and the diamond shapes that will work with your ring. With carat size estimate and diamond shape, you’ve got all the information necessary to go diamond shopping.

Q: What is JewelsBoutique.com's stance on conflict diamonds?
JewelsBoutique.com shares the concern of the global community in abolishing conflict diamonds, and is committed to procuring goods of the utmost integrity. We are proud to sell beautiful, high quality diamonds that are obtained solely through closely monitored legal channels set forth by the United Nations' Kimberley Process.
The Kimberley Process, adopted into U.S. and Canadian legislation, requires manufacturers to comply with a lengthy procedure which closely tracks, ships and receives each diamond, documenting each step so as to monitor the stones' origin. Diamonds that we offer for sale are procured from legitimate sources not involved in funding conflict and comply with the United Nations resolutions set forth by the Kimberly Process procedure.
